New York death metal sickos SKINLESS premiere new video

#News
Reactivated New York death metal sickos, SKINLESS, further traumatize the metal hordes with the visual accompaniment to their namesake track, “Skinless.”

Get down with your torture tactics:

The latest skull-crusher comes by way of the band’s imminent new full-length, the fittingly-titled "Only The Ruthless Remain". Featuring their classic late ‘90s lineup of founding guitarist Noah Carpenter, vocalist Sherwood Webber, bassist Joe Keyser and drummer Bob Beaulac, with the recent addition of second guitarist, Dave Matthews, the record was captured by Tom Case at Edie Road Studio and Doomsday Bunker Studio, both in upstate New York, with vocals tracked by Dave Otero (Cephalic Carnage, Primitive Man etc.) at Flatline Audio in Denver, Colorado, and the entire slab of audio violence mastered by Brad Boatright (Obituary, Nails, Integrity etc.) at Audiosiege in Portland, Oregon.

The sadistic, seven-minute “Skinless” clip begins innocently enough before surging throat first into a horrific world of lethal injections, human flaying and general group-inflicted suffering as part of “some sort of Satanic cult ritual.” A delightful exercise in SKINLESS’ signature brand of butchering riffs and surgical precision, “Skinless” is punishing both sonically and visually.

Elaborates Webber, “The ‘Skinless’ video chronicles the sordid obsession of our accomplice, the Hudson Skinner. Captured by an equally ruthless Jim Brassard and his team, have a look into the sickened world the Hudson Skinner set to song by your fiends in SKINLESS.”

Bloody Disgusting, who premiered the video trailer last week, “The video, which is incredibly NSFW for torture and gore, shows a man being slowly murdered by the band as well as a “doctor”, who could easily have come from Rob Zombie’s House Of 1,000 Corpses. If you have issues with being skinned, avoid this video at all costs.”

You can also sample “Serpenticide”

SKINLESS live:

5/21/2015 Maryland Deathfest @ Soundstage - Baltimore, MD
6/20/2015 Hellfest Open Air – Clisson, FR

"Only The Ruthless Remain" includes artwork by Ken Sarafin and will be unleashed on CD, LP and digitally via Relapse Records on June 2nd, 2015 in North America (June 1st in the UK/EU and May 29th in DE/Benelux/Finland).

New grisly video clip from GRUESOME online

#News
Uniting members of Exhumed, Possessed, Malevolent Creation and Derketa, GRUESOME pays homage to death metal’s most celebrated founding American acts, Death. As such, their debut full-length, Savage Land, released last week via Relapse Records, is a delightfully punishing display of late-‘80s/early-‘90s Florida-styled death metal that keeps the true sound and spirit of Chuck Schuldiner and Death alive.

In commemoration of its release, GRUESOME offers up the charmingly gore torn new video for the record’s title track. A deliciously cannibalistic wonder world of blood, barbarians and blatant brutality, the visual accompaniment to Savage Land is truly… gruesome.

Expels guitarist/vocalist Matt Harvey, “The kind folks at Relapse put together a really cool clip video for the title track of the GRUESOME album. The video perfectly captures the violence and gore of the tune and takes me back to the early days of my teens when I devoured gore flicks and the first three Death albums with equal enthusiasm. This video is definitely not safe for work and not for the squeamish. Enjoy!”

Bloody Disgusting online: “The video uses footage from Umberto Lanzi’s 1980 cannibal film Eaten Alive! (Mangiati Vivi!) as well as Antonio Margheriti’s Cannibal Apocalypse, which also came out in 1980. As a result, this video is packed to the brim with gore, nudity, and violence. There’s people being torn apart, eyes gouged out, limbs being eaten, and that’s probably just grazing the surface. If you’re at work, I recommend waiting until the coast is clear before pressing play on this one!"

GRUESOME was borne out of guitarist/vocalist Matt Harvey (Exhumed) and drummer Gus Rios’ (Malevolent Creation) mutual involvement with the Death To All tours. After discarding the idea of putting together another incarnation of DTA to focus exclusively on Death’s first two albums, Harvey half-jokingly suggested writing their own songs in that vein. The idea gained traction, and the band had five songs written. Rios later recruited Possessed guitarist Daniel Gonzalez and Derketa bassist Robin Mazen to record the material in Florida. Savage Land was tracked by Rios and Gonzalez at Riversound Studios in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, mixed by Jarrett Pritchard at Mana Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida, and features a guest guitar solo on “Closed Casket” by James Murphy as well as cover art by legendary illustrator Ed Repka.

Unearthly Trance: Band Announces Reformation + Live Performances

#News

Like a phoenix undead, Brooklyn based black/doom/sludge trio UNEARTHLY TRANCE has returned! After putting the band on ice in 2012, Darren Verni, Ryan Lipynsky and Jay Newman have decided to resurrect and start playing together once again. The band is already currently writing new music for what will be their sixth full-length album and fourth for Relapse Records.

2015 has shown sparks of life already for the band with the 2xCD release of Ouroboros; a compilation of hard to find songs, vinyl only releases and a few unreleased gems from years past. This collection was released on Throne Records and is available at this location.

In the past UNEARTHLY TRANCE has shared the stage with the heaviest bands on the planet including The Melvins, Sleep, Electric Wizard, High On Fire, Autopsy and Morbid Angel to name a few.  NowUNEARTHLY TRANCE have announced their first performances in over three years with a few NYC area shows booked in May and July with support from Samothrace, Primitive Man and Churchburn. A series of Northeast dates are also in the works for August as well as a soon to be announced Fest in California this November.

Gruesome: Savage LandAvailable Now

#News

This week, Death-worshippers GRUESOME unveil their debut LP, Savage Land, via Relapse Records. Uniting members of Exhumed, Possessed, Malevolent Creation and Derketa, GRUESOMEchannels inspiration from one of death metal's most revered founding American acts, Death, into their own mangled interpretations. Boasting eight crushing tracks of late-'80s/early-'90s Florida-styled death metal madness, GRUESOME truly and sincerely keeps the sound and spirit of Chuck Schuldiner and Death alive. In a 5/5 review, Stereokiller says "If you like old school death metal and are looking to travel back in time with a new record, this is an absolute must."

XANDRIA – UNLEASH TITLE, ARTWORK & TRACK LISTING OF UPCOMING EP!

#News

XANDRIA’s new EP is called Fire & Ashes and it is going to be released worldwide on July 31st via Napalm Records! Have a glance at the wonderful cover art, that was designed by Felipe Machado, known also for his works with Rage, Blind Guardian, Iron Savior and Rhapsody of Fire, to name a few.

There are three brand new songs on the EP, which are “Voyage of the Fallen”, “Unembraced” & “In Remembrance”. In addition to those tracks, the band decided to re-record two all time favorites of XANDRIA’s fans, just the way they think the songs should sound like in 2015. These songs are: “Ravenheart” (originally recorded for the album Ravenheart in 2004) and  “Now & Forever” (India, 2005).

XANDRIA talked about recording select cover songs that might be included in this EP, the first one is Sonata Arctica’s classic “Don`t Say A Word” and as for the second, XANDRIA said the following:
“During the photoshoot for the Sacrificium record we were digging through our music libraries to find something appropriate for getting us in the right mood. At some point we got stuck with an artist every one of us had a crush on someone with and a story to tell about back then from our teenager days in the earlier 90ies. We straight away started joking about doing a XANDRIA version of this particular song, but really forgot about it until the discussion of doing some remake for an EP came up again. With the biggest respect we started this operation of transforming one of our all time faves, a real classic, into a XANDRIA hymn. Well, we think we quite did an “okay” job and on July the 31st it`s your turn to decide whether you`ve got a favorite song or not ;-): “Fire & Ashes” will contain our intonation of Meat Loaf’s “I would do anything for love (but I won’t do that)”. This one is for you! Enjoy!”
