Zerobyte - IX Degrees Of Human Decline

Zerobyte is a Spanish Djent-Mathcore band, founded in 2010. They releaseded a selftitled EP in 2013, and their first full-length album in 2016. Their style is similar to Meshuggah and Fear Factory.

Djent isn’t easy to play and compose, because you can fall into the monotony. But our friends of Zerobyte have done a strong work. Every song has different rhythms, strange guitar riffs…

The alum is great, considering it's a debut album, but perhaps a bit too short. It only has 34 minutes divided in 9 tracks. They introduce some mathcore elements in the compositions and they do a good demonstration of their skills, but somehow lack feelings for the music. I know this is difficult in progressive metal, but they may get it.

Favorite tracks: Kepler 62E, Free Runner, Cosmic Dust.

Conclusion: They're not reinventing anything,  but the band is unique in its style in Spain. If they go on European tour, maybe they'll get good results.
