I arrived in Trutnov around 1 pm, in time to park, eat something and get ready. It was time for the Freak Fest!
Races in garbage cans, salt water until you vomit, fights on benches, spanking on the ass... All very Freak!!
Today was a special day, in recent editions the OEF has dedicated Wednesdays to being an event that is far from the festival itself. This time we had the “Weird Riffs” edition. I was able to enjoy bands like Masz, Morbid Evils, Belzebong, Deaf Kids... Conan who never disappoints. The headliners were Godflesh, and their live show was something from another planet. I have no words to describe the magic that was unleashed that night, incredible! I also had the privilege of chatting with Justin Broadrick, what a great guy!
Thursday; I woke up very excited. Today they played, among many amazing bands, Crisix, our Catalan friends and one of the best live bands today.
Bands like Heresy, Ona Snop, Phantom Corporation...
Crisix was a party without equal, it was very short but intense as could be. The quintet had an incredible time, proof of this are the shots taken during the performance.
Lik, Memoriam, God Macabre, Infest, Malevolent Creation... And all the other bands of the day.
A pity that it rained disproportionately for several hours, but this did not prevent the enjoyment of the crowd.
Friday promised a lot. What a great line-up!
Special mention to Feastem and P.L.F., brutal!
Seeing Benediction, Macabre, Dismember and Midnight in a row was huge! 4 great concerts to remember, I am left without words to express the happiness that it was.
In the tents we were able to fool around a bit at the 90's post-party to finish off the night, until they turned off the music and we finally went to sleep. What a great day, each and every one of the bands!
Saturday, and for many, the last day of the festival.
Special mention to our friends from Intoxxxicated, Escuela Grind, Indian Nightmare, Beheaded, Gatecreeper and Crypta.
What a great moment when the festival kids crowdsurfed from the corner of the stage during the Beheaded concert.
The stars of the day: Avulsed, Tankard and Pig Destroyer.
What a party with Tankard! They have to go back to the OEF without a doubt!
In the OEF each and every one of the bands are of great quality, they never disappoint.
This year I saw fewer costumes and less nudity, surely next year the tradition will be recovered.
As always, there is a wide variety of vegan and vegetarian food at very good prices. And half a liter of beer cost 2 euros.
Exquisite organization, good cleanliness and no delays.
The bands have a great time and almost always say that this is without a doubt the best festival in the world and the craziest!
For me, luckily, the fun was not over. I still had the after-party on Sunday.
Saturday was hard, I stayed until the music was turned off in the tents, it was the last party and I had to make the most of it.
Waking up on Sunday was not easy. Dress up and go to meet the last survivors at the gas station. I had a few hours to chat and have a few beers before the concerts started.
The after-party was held in the building where the merch is sold.
I was able to enjoy bands like Intoxxxicated, Hellbastard, P.L.F. and the big surprise of the night: Pig Destroyer!!!
And once the concerts were over, Bilos got on stage and, together with Čurby, said goodbye to this edition. Moment in which the tears escape... Well, even if we have a broken body and an insane need to take a shower, being in the OEF is simply the best, and there is nothing sadder than ending it.
It only remains to thank Čurby and the entire Crew from the deepest of my heart, for being the best and making the best festival on the planet. And of course to Xarles, Ronny, Slissen and all the people who shared these wonderful days by my side, old acquaintances and new ones.
