Another devastating series of announcements has arrived for Obscene Extreme Festival 2026, once again pushing the Battlefield deeper into grindcore madness, old-school death metal worship, punk rebellion and underground extremity from every imaginable corner of the world. Between late December 2025 and January 2026, the legendary Czech festival added everything from Swedish death metal royalty and rare acoustic horror performances to Indian death metal warfare and furious Chinese punk.
The newest wave began on December 24 with one of the strangest and rarest performances imaginable: MACABRE MINSTRELS. Appearing at OEF only once every eighteen years according to the organisers, the acoustic alter ego of cult murder-metal legends MACABRE returns to the Battlefield for another deeply morbid campfire gathering.
Swapping electric instruments for acoustic ones, the members of MACABRE MINSTRELS reinterpret children’s songs and dark humour through grotesque themes involving serial killers, death and absurdity. Fans who witnessed their infamous 2008 performance already know exactly how bizarrely entertaining this spectacle can become, turning the Battlefield into something between a horror cabaret and a drunken underground campfire ritual.
The first announcements of 2026 then arrived on January 5 with German crust-metal punks ACCION MUTANTE. Formed in 1994, the band built its reputation on a savage fusion of metal aggression, punk anger, relentless d-beat rhythms and dual-vocalist attacks inspired by classic britcore acts such as Extreme Noise Terror and Ripcord.
Although the band went through a temporary period of inactivity in the past, ACCION MUTANTE now returns stronger than ever, ready to unleash their furious crossover violence at Obscene Extreme Festival for the fourth time. According to the organisers, fans should prepare for raw pressure capable of kicking brains directly out of skulls.
Italian thrashcore destroyers SPOILED followed on January 7. Emerging in 2016 before reforming into a fully weaponised speed machine in 2021, the band channels classic crossover intensity through breakneck riffs, frantic drumming and absolutely furious vocals.
The organisers directly compared SPOILED to legends such as S.O.D. and D.R.I., describing them as a modern reincarnation of that same violent thrashcore energy. Their debut album “Collapse” already established them as one of the fastest and most aggressive younger bands currently operating in the European underground, with another release expected before the festival.
Colombian goregrind insanity arrived on January 8 with AxCxMxE — also known as Acto Coito Morbo Excitante. Continuing OEF’s long-standing relationship with the Colombian extreme underground, the band brings uncompromising goregrind perversity and twisted brutality directly from one of the world’s most savage death metal scenes.
Formed in 2014, AxCxMxE represents exactly the kind of disgusting and excessive sonic violence the Battlefield thrives on: filthy goregrind, nonstop aggression and absolute underground chaos delivered without compromise.
One of the biggest announcements of the entire period came on January 11 with the return of Swedish death metal gods DISMEMBER. Returning to OEF after unforgettable performances in 2006 and 2022, the legendary band once again brings its original 1991 line-up back to the Battlefield.
The organisers emphasised the historical importance of albums such as “Like an Ever Flowing Stream”, “Indecent and Obscene” and the legendary EP “Pieces”, records permanently carved into the foundations of death metal history. Unlike many veteran acts, DISMEMBER rarely performs live and carefully selects its appearances, making their return to Trutnov especially significant.
The announcement strongly connected the atmosphere of the Battlefield itself — with its iron crosses, underground history and cemetery-like surroundings — to the spirit of classic Swedish death metal. Fans can expect a set heavily focused on the material from “Like an Ever Flowing Stream”, performed with the same uncompromising intensity that originally changed death metal forever.
India entered the Battlefield on January 13 through Hyderabad death metal war machine GODLESS. Since forming in 2015, the band has rapidly evolved into one of India’s most internationally respected extreme metal exports thanks to its high-speed blend of thrash-infused death metal, precision musicianship and relentless aggression.
Their rise included major milestones such as winning Wacken Metal Battle India, performing at Wacken Open Air and touring alongside acts like Psycroptic and Jeff Loomis. Albums such as “States of Chaos” and the more recent EP “Genesis of Decay” further solidified their reputation for technically sharp and brutally fast death metal.
At Obscene Extreme Festival 2026, GODLESS will make their first-ever appearance ready to deliver total sonic annihilation directly from the Indian underground.
Chinese punk fury followed on January 14 with DUMMY TOYS. More than a decade after Cave Have Rod became the first Chinese act connected to OEF, the Beijing-based quartet now becomes another rare representative of Chinese underground punk culture at the Battlefield.
Since 2015, DUMMY TOYS have fused street punk, hardcore, crust and riot grrrl energy into one aggressive and politically charged attack. Their music carries the spirit of bands such as The Casualties and Call The Cops while adding influences from Japanese female punk movements and their own lived experiences within a society where underground punk culture remains difficult and confrontational.
The organisers also confirmed that the band is currently preparing a brand-new album following 2023’s “War is Nightmare”, with new songs expected to appear live at Obscene Extreme Festival 2026.
American hardcore veterans FINAL CONFLICT arrived on January 15. Active for more than forty years, the Long Beach legends became one of the foundational names of politically charged US hardcore punk, influencing not only hardcore itself but also grindcore and crust scenes around the world.
Although their discography remains relatively small compared to their longevity, records such as “Ashes to Ashes” remain deeply respected classics of American hardcore history. Their first-ever appearance at OEF therefore represents another important moment in the festival’s continuing expansion into the roots of underground punk extremity.
Finally, one of the most unexpected and exciting announcements arrived on January 18 with Swedish death metal supergroup MURDER SQUAD. Originally formed in 1993 by members of Entombed and Dismember — including Uffe Cederlund, Matti Kärki, Peter Stjärnvind and Richard Cabeza — the band initially began as an Autopsy tribute before developing its own deeply rotten and doom-soaked identity.
Albums such as “Unsane, Insane and Mentally Deranged” and “Ravenous Murderous” are now widely considered cult masterpieces of filthy, punk-infused Swedish death metal morbidity. Despite this reputation, MURDER SQUAD has barely performed live throughout its existence, making their appearance at Obscene Extreme Festival 2026 extraordinarily rare.
The organisers described the band’s sound as the perfect collision between Autopsy’s diseased atmosphere and the classic Swedish HM-2 chainsaw tone, all driven by Matti Kärki’s savage vocals and primal songwriting. Following years of inactivity and previous suggestions that the band would never return, OEF will now host MURDER SQUAD’s first-ever performance in the Czech Republic — a genuinely historic moment for death metal fans.
With names such as DISMEMBER, MURDER SQUAD, FINAL CONFLICT, GODLESS, DUMMY TOYS and MACABRE MINSTRELS now confirmed, Obscene Extreme Festival 2026 continues assembling one of the most unique and uncompromising underground line-ups anywhere in the world.
