The latest wave of announcements for Obscene Extreme Festival 2026 once again proves that the legendary Czech gathering refuses to slow down for even a second. Between October 15 and October 21, the Battlefield expanded its already monstrous line-up with Swedish death metal veterans, technical death metal masterminds, hypergoregrind terrorists, Vietnamese crossover fury, crust punk legends and beer-fuelled blastbeat chaos.
The destruction began on October 15 with the long-awaited return of Swedish death metal veterans CENTINEX. Few styles have shaped the history of Obscene Extreme Festival quite like classic Swedish death metal, and over the festival’s more than twenty-five-year existence, fans have witnessed countless legendary performances from the pioneers of the genre. CENTINEX, originally formed in 1990, belong firmly among those names.
The band has already delivered two crushing performances at OEF in the past, while a planned appearance in 2025 unfortunately had to be cancelled due to illness affecting the band’s vocalist. Now, however, CENTINEX are finally returning to the Battlefield in 2026, armed with their latest album “With Guts and Glory” and ready to unleash another wave of HM-2-powered destruction upon Trutnov. For longtime fans of Swedish death metal, this is set to become one of the essential performances of the festival.
Technical brutality arrived one day later with Californian death metal monsters EMBRYONIC DEVOURMENT. Founded in 2003, the band has spent more than two decades constructing a terrifyingly complex and highly technical form of brutal death metal. While the line-up evolved over the years, Austin and Luke have remained at the heart of the project since the very beginning, with Tenoch joining the current trio more recently.
Across five albums, EMBRYONIC DEVOURMENT have developed a reputation for combining insane technicality, overwhelming brutality and intricate melodic structures into one suffocating sonic assault. The organisers openly questioned whether such a technical band could get the Obscene crowd moving — before immediately answering their own question with total confidence. At Obscene Extreme Festival 2026, these virtuoso death metal technicians are expected to deliver one of the most intense and mind-bending sets of the entire event.
October 17 pushed the extremity levels even further with the arrival of Ohio-born, California-based hypergoregrind terrorists SULFURIC CAUTERY. Inspired by bands such as Last Days of Humanity and Orchidectomy, the trio exists solely to create the most violent, fastest and most relentless blastbeat attack imaginable.
Their latest full-length “Killing Spree” and recent split release with Myxoma continue to push their grotesque sound into even more absurdly extreme territory. According to the festival organisers, SULFURIC CAUTERY represent complete sensory overload: chainsaw guitars, nonstop blastbeats, guttural chaos and absolutely zero mercy from beginning to end.
Beyond the sonic violence itself, the band also strongly represents DIY ethics and open opposition to fascism, making them a perfect fit for the Obscene spirit. At Obscene Extreme Festival 2026, the organisers promise that SULFURIC CAUTERY will transform the stage into a hypergoregrind warzone of pure insanity.
The following day brought one of the most unusual and exciting international additions yet with Vietnamese crossover force CÚT LỘN. Every year, Obscene Extreme Festival attempts to introduce bands from regions rarely represented on European stages, and this year’s Vietnamese newcomers are expected to become one of the biggest surprises of the entire event.
Formed in 2018, CÚT LỘN combines hardcore, thrash and dark metal influences into a violent and highly energetic crossover attack designed specifically for furious headbanging. The band has already performed across South Korea, Thailand, Cambodia, the Philippines and Malaysia, building a reputation for explosive live shows throughout Asia.
Their appearance at Obscene Extreme Festival 2026 carries additional historical significance, as CÚT LỘN will become only the second Vietnamese band ever to appear at OEF following Wuu’s appearance at OEF Asia 2013 — and the very first Vietnamese act ever to perform on the Battlefield in Trutnov itself.
Crust punk devastation followed on October 19 with the addition of Swedish d-beat/crust veterans WARCOLLAPSE. Formed in 1991, the band became one of the defining names within the Swedish crust scene through their unique fusion of d-beat aggression, dark atmosphere and crushing stoner-crust heaviness.
Although not especially active as a live band in recent years, the organisers made it very clear that every rare appearance by WARCOLLAPSE feels monumental. Their newest album, “Deliberate Indoctrination”, continues exploring themes of chaos, violence and darkness while maintaining the suffocating intensity that made the band legendary in underground crust circles.
For Obscene Extreme Festival 2026, WARCOLLAPSE are expected to deliver not simply another concert, but a full celebration of Swedish crust history and one of the most oppressive sonic experiences of the entire festival.
On October 20, the mood shifted back toward grotesque party chaos with the return of Dutch goregrind veterans RECTAL SMEGMA. Already deeply associated with the Obscene Extreme atmosphere, the band has performed at the festival five times before and built a cult reputation for transforming goregrind into an absurdly danceable and ridiculous spectacle.
After facing various difficulties during 2025, RECTAL SMEGMA now returns stronger than ever, armed with a brand-new album and the same mission as always: to create enormous moshpits full of living and dead goregrind maniacs alike. The organisers described the band’s upcoming set as another “fragrant ride” filled with dancing, exaggeration and pure goregrind absurdity.
The final announcement in this batch arrived on October 21 with German death/grind crossover maniacs TFB. The combination of Germany, beer and blastbeats may already feel completely normal to veteran OEF attendees, but TFB proudly embrace exactly that spirit.
Founded in Trier in 2015, the band combines energetic death/grind with catchy thrash riffs, powerviolence chaos, insane speed and an unmistakable sense of humour during their live performances. One especially familiar face within the band is vocalist Mario, widely known throughout the underground as organiser of festivals such as Grind the Nazi Scum and Grind Here-Right Now.
A longtime attendee of Obscene Extreme Festival, Mario will now finally step onto the Battlefield stage with his own band for the first time ever. And judging by the organisers’ enthusiasm, TFB are expected to deliver one of the wildest and most alcohol-fuelled blastbeat parties of the entire weekend.
With every new wave of announcements, Obscene Extreme Festival 2026 continues evolving into a truly global celebration of underground extremity — uniting legendary veterans, bizarre newcomers and total sonic destruction from every imaginable corner of the world.
