Converge, Demonical and more extreme heavyweights join the growing chaos of Obscene Extreme 2026

Another massive announcement wave has arrived for Obscene Extreme Festival 2026, and this time the Battlefield prepares itself for one of the most important and explosive names ever added to the line-up. Between October 22 and October 28, OEF unveiled a brutal mixture of hardcore chaos, Swedish death metal supremacy, goregrind obscenity, old-school grindcore warfare and crust punk rebellion — all crowned by the long-awaited arrival of legendary American extremists CONVERGE.

The first announcement in this new batch came on October 22 with Italian brutal death metal force DEVANGELIC. Over the last years, the band has become one of the strongest and most relentless brutal death metal acts currently operating in Europe. With four albums already released and a brand-new one scheduled for the following year, DEVANGELIC have built an impressive international reputation through nonstop touring and devastating live performances around the globe.

Widely embraced by both fans and critics for their crushing brutality, the band will now bring their merciless sonic assault to Obscene Extreme Festival 2026 as their exclusive Czech appearance during the 2026 summer festival season. One thing is already guaranteed: the pit is going to become absolute chaos.

Thrash metal fury followed on October 23 with German riff machine BONDED. Although relatively young as a band, having formed in 2018, BONDED already carries serious pedigree through the involvement of former Sodom members Bernemann and Makka. Since releasing their debut album “Rest in Violence” through Century Media in 2020, the band has established itself as a savage modern continuation of classic Teutonic thrash.

Their current line-up also includes musicians connected to legendary acts such as Kreator, Path of Golconda and Onkel Tom, transforming BONDED into a true thrash metal supergroup. Their second album “Into Blackness” further expanded the band’s reputation for uncompromising aggression, and many of those songs will now make their Obscene Extreme debut in 2026.

October 24 then delivered another major death metal highlight with the return of Swedish HM-2 masters DEMONICAL. Formed in 2006 from the ashes of Centinex, the band has spent nearly two decades refining one of the purest forms of Stockholm-style death metal still active today.

From their debut “Servants of the Unlight” all the way to recent releases such as “Mass Destroyer” and the EP “Into Victory”, DEMONICAL have remained completely loyal to chainsaw riffing, infernal atmosphere and total old-school brutality. Supported by an extremely strong line-up including Ronnie Bergerstål and Martin Schulman, the band now marches toward Obscene Extreme Festival 2026 ready to unleash another devastating wave of Swedish death metal supremacy upon the Battlefield.

The gore-soaked underground sickness continued on October 25 with Danish hyper-guttural horror act FOSSE SEPTIQUE. Formed in 2024 after the collapse of Danish goregrind outfit Septage, the band immediately pushed extremity into completely absurd territory.

According to the organisers, the sound of FOSSE SEPTIQUE resembles opening a real septic tank: utterly sickening, grotesque and disgustingly inhuman. With suffocating goregrind chaos inspired by acts such as Last Days of Humanity and Capsaicin Stitch Rupture, the band promises to become one of the filthiest and most disturbing experiences of the entire festival.

Then came the announcement that immediately changed everything.

On October 26, Obscene Extreme Festival 2026 officially confirmed the first-ever appearance of American hardcore legends CONVERGE. For many fans of extreme music, this instantly became one of the biggest announcements of the festival so far.

Since the early 1990s, CONVERGE have stood as one of the most revolutionary and influential bands in hardcore, metalcore and extreme music overall. Albums such as “Jane Doe”, “You Fail Me”, “Axe to Fall” and “All We Love We Leave Behind” are now regarded not simply as records, but as defining blueprints for entire generations of modern extreme music.

The legendary line-up of Jacob Bannon, Kurt Ballou, Nate Newton and Ben Koller continues to perform with the same fury and intensity that made the band iconic decades ago. The organisers described their live performances not as concerts, but as rituals of chaos, emotion, noise and survival.

Importantly, the festival made clear that CONVERGE are not operating as a nostalgia act. Even after decades, the band still performs with terrifying intensity, as if every show might be the last one ever played. Their first appearance at Obscene Extreme Festival is therefore expected to become one of the defining moments of the 2026 edition and one of the most intense performances ever witnessed at the Battlefield.

The following day, October 27, the grindcore assault resumed with Hungarian grinders RETORSION. Although still relatively new to many listeners, the band already caused serious impact in the underground thanks to their demo “Elve Rohadás”, which immediately drew attention among old-school grindcore fans.

Strongly inspired by early grind pioneers like Repulsion while maintaining their own identity, RETORSION combines savage speed, explosive energy and nonstop intensity into what the organisers described as the equivalent of a “megaton atomic bomb”. Their debut full-length album is currently on the way, and many already see them as one of the possible dark horses of Obscene Extreme Festival 2026.

Finally, on October 28, Swedish crust punk veterans UNCURBED completed this announcement wave with a massive comeback. The legendary band announced its return to the stage for selected performances during 2026, with Obscene Extreme Festival chosen as one of the few places where fans will once again experience their furious mixture of punk, crust and metallic aggression.

Returning with what the organisers describe as the strongest possible line-up, UNCURBED are expected to perform classic material from albums such as “Peace.Love.Punk.Life…”, “Keeps the Banner High”, “Punks on Parole” and “Ackord för Frihet”. The band last devastated the Battlefield back in 2004, and all signs suggest their return in 2026 will be every bit as chaotic and explosive as before.

With names such as CONVERGE, DEMONICAL, DEVANGELIC, BONDED, RETORSION and UNCURBED now officially confirmed, Obscene Extreme Festival 2026 continues evolving into one of the most diverse and dangerous editions the festival has assembled in years.
