The first announcement wave for Obscene Extreme Festival 2026 is already shaping up into a complete nightmare in the best possible way. Across eight consecutive announcements published between September 1 and September 8, the legendary Czech festival has once again demonstrated its absolute devotion to the underground, bringing together everything from rotten old-school death metal and savage crossover to brutal slam, grinding violence and HM-2 worship.
Opening the floodgates are German rotten death metal gore fetishists REPULSIVE FEAST, officially revealed on September 1 as the very first band confirmed for OEF 2026. Deeply rooted in the disgusting spirit of early death metal, the band evokes the filth and decay of legends like Autopsy, delivering a sound that feels like a direct trip back to the golden age of underground rotten death metal. While OEF fans are already familiar with this kind of sonic depravity, the festival highlighted the band’s devastating live performance as one of their strongest weapons. The big question raised by the organisers was simple: could REPULSIVE FEAST become worthy successors to the ancient gods of rotten death metal? Their answer was clear — absolutely yes.
One day later, on September 2, the festival dropped another bombshell with the confirmation of Seattle crossover legends THE ACCÜSED AD. Mixing thrash metal, hardcore and punk rock into one violent package, THE ACCÜSED AD continue the legacy of the cult band THE ACCÜSED with two original members still in the lineup. Active under the new name since 2019, the band has continued touring relentlessly around the globe, carrying forward the immortal riffs and chaotic energy that influenced entire generations of heavy music. Their appearance at Obscene Extreme Festival 2026 will mark their first time on the Obscene Extreme stage, something the organisers described as nothing less than a dream come true.
The death metal assault continued on September 3 with the addition of American veterans MORTA SKULD. Active since 1990, the Wisconsin barbarians have remained fiercely loyal to uncompromising old-school death metal ever since the release of their debut album “Dying Remains”. Despite a temporary hiatus during their career, the band never abandoned its original spirit and continues to ignore trends entirely, something clearly reflected in their latest album “Creation Undone”. Obscene Extreme Festival 2026 will also mark the first-ever appearance of MORTA SKULD at the Battlefield.
September 4 saw the return of one of the festival’s favourite party-starting crossover acts, Austria’s INSANITY ALERT. Known for their insanely energetic live performances and uncontrollable moshpit chaos, the band has been delivering high-octane thrash crossover madness since 2011. Led by the frantic Heavy Kevy, INSANITY ALERT will be appearing at OEF for the third time, once again promising absolute destruction, endless stagediving and crowds screaming along to both their own material and unexpected cover versions from inside and outside the metal world. Their message remains simple and effective: MOSH TILL DEATH.
The next day brought another dose of relentless extremity with German grind/death metal squad KEITZER. Formed in 1999 — the exact same year Obscene Extreme itself began — KEITZER are now approaching an impressive 27 years of nonstop brutality. Armed with eight full-length albums, the band combines blazing-fast death metal with elements of black metal and crushing grindcore, creating a savage hybrid perfectly suited for the Battlefield. Their upcoming appearance at Obscene Extreme Festival 2026 will mark their third participation in the festival and their first return since 2012.
Swedish-inspired HM-2 devastation arrived on September 6 through Czech death metal bulldozers TAEDIFER. Although relatively new as a band, TAEDIFER is formed by experienced musicians connected to acts such as Ingrowing, Gutalax and Avenger. Worshipping the unmistakable Sunlight Studio sound of the late 80s and early 90s, the band delivers crushing mid-tempo death metal driven by chainsaw guitar tone and massive groove. According to the festival organisers, the group also stands out thanks to its memorable melodies and powerful songwriting. Their debut album is currently on the way, while Obscene Extreme Festival 2026 will also host the band’s very first appearance at the festival.
On September 7, Italian brutal death metal deviants VULVECTOMY entered the picture with their obscene blend of technical brutality, slamming madness and pornographic grotesquery. For nearly a decade, the band has cultivated an image balancing absurdity, extremity and total devotion to heavy music. The festival itself jokingly questioned whether the band should even be taken seriously — but at the same time acknowledged the impressive challenge of combining hyper-technical brutality with crushing slam death metal. Backed by Comatose Records, VULVECTOMY promise exactly what Obscene Extreme fans love most: massive riffs, violent energy and pure underground entertainment.
Closing this first major announcement wave on September 8 are Berlin-based death metal maniacs TERATOMA. Formed in 2021 by musicians originally from Brazil, Chile and Italy, the band quickly established itself within the underground thanks to its putrid old-school death metal attack filled with horror atmosphere and filthy intensity. Their debut album “Purulent Manifestation”, released in 2022, received strong praise throughout the extreme scene, while the band is already preparing brand-new material expected to arrive very soon. OEF audiences will likely get an early taste of that new sonic devastation when TERATOMA storms the Battlefield in 2026.
With these first confirmations alone, Obscene Extreme Festival 2026 is already looking like another mandatory pilgrimage for fans of grindcore, death metal, crust, crossover and every filthy corner of the underground extreme scene. And if this is only the beginning, the next announcement waves are going to become even more dangerous.
